Pongal Vizha - 2023
The "Pongal Vizha" (Pongal Festival) for this year (2023) organized by the Navithanveli Divisional Secretariat was held on 27.01.2023 at the Divisional Secretariat premises.
Mr. V. Jegatheesan, the Additional Government Agent of Ampara District, was the special guest and started the Pongal events in this festival, which was organized as a way to celebrate the Tamil culture and tradition of worshiping the agriculture and the farmers. It is also noteworthy that the event also featured performances by school students. Divisional Secretary Mr.S.Ranganathan led the event, Assistant Divisional Secretary Mr.P.Pranavarupan, Accountant Mr. Rizvi Yasar, Deputy Planning Director Mrs.T.Kirupairaja, Administrative Officer Mr.K.Yogeswaran, Administrative Grama Niladhari Mr.Manoj Indrajith, Additional District Registrar Mr.P.Nithyanandhan, Samurthi Headquarters Manager S.Sivam and other officials were present. Divisional Secretariat officers, representatives of social organizations and members of the public were also present.
